I had no idea these were sold here

The US got them for the first two years they were produced (71 & 72, I believe). Maybe Canada was similar?

Wow I’ve never seen or heard of this car.

Had no idea these went out of Japan. Interesting to see they are LHD too!

We got the Crown from ‘58-’73. The last ones didn't sell too well, largely due the unique styling at the time.

Those 2-doors are really sharp and rare. That’s still a lot of scratch for a car in that condition, though.

Quite possibly, or it was specially ordered. I imagine that was a thing you could do in the 70s

Yeah I had no idea, I love that there's at least one here

It is, unfortunately. Hopefully someone with more money than me buys it and treats it well

This would make for a sweet restomod.
A nice triple Webber setup on the side of a mildly worked 6M backed up by a w58...
Why do I not have limitless monies?!?!?

That's pretty much the same as what I was thinking...gotta keep that patina

Ironically, that one has BC plates too! Guess there are at least two here...

Canada loves Crown coupes. Littered with them.

I don’t care for patina. A heavy flake greenish brownish gold would be perfect. So much 70's it hurts.

Fair enough, I like the direction of so 70s that it hurts

If it wasn’t such a project, I might. I really like these early Crowns with the weird front ends. These are really rare, and I suspect they sold more in Canada than the US - I have seen a couple others in BC too, I think.
Unfortunately, it is like my fintail, where restoration would cost about twice the value of the finished car.

That is unfortunate, it would be a lot cheaper to just fix it so it drives, but it does deserve to be restored. There was a Crown wagon like this for sale a while back. I really, really wanted it

Was it in BC? I swear I have seen an ad for one.
This coupe is just too far gone for me to want to drive - I can deal with a little patina like on my old car, but this Crown is more neglected than simply aged. I suppose his price isn’t that out of line, as it is under 4K USD, but I suspect I’d be putting 25K into it to get it where I want.

It was, in Victoria I’m pretty sure. Maybe Nanaimo. This is true, it does look like it needs a lot of attention, and no interior shots...

It would be a labor of love, but probably deserves to be saved. Just have to find the right person with ample time and money.

someone on here is figuring out how much a 2JZ swap would be...

Either that, or 1UZ
